Tell your Senators to support the Casey Kids Amendment
The US Senate has begun its historic debate on health care reform. On Monday, Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania filed an amendment to that legislation which would provide additional major benefits for children and families. Every Child Matters strongly supports this amendment because it will guarantee comprehensive coverage for millions of additional children. Major features of the amendment include:
• Continuing funding for CHIP through 2019
• Ensuring coverage is affordable and open to more families
• Making it easier for families to enroll
• Calling for a study to examine coverage and benefits of CHIP and the best way to continue covering kids after 2019
